Each month will feature different plants from our outdoor collection that make great choices for our region – from year-round color to drought-tolerant choices and more. Self-guided plant tour handouts are available in our north lobby.

  • Tuesdays, 5:45 p.m.
  • Late arrivals not accepted after 5:50 p.m.
  • Meet in the Visitor Services Center, located on the south end of the Crystal Bridge
  • Myriad Gardens Members: $5
  • Nonmembers: $10

This is a great, all-levels class. Class participants should bring a yoga mat and water. Class participants will meet in the south lobby for check-in each week. Drop in for a session or two or enjoy the entire series!

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, his wonderful books and the earth! We’ll have everyone’s favorite character, Cat In the Hat, here to read stories and tell fun Dr. Seuss facts. Kids can learn from the Lorax about how to take care of our animal and plant friends while visiting our special Oklahoma City Zoo visitors. We’ll also have Dr. Seuss inspired crafts and a fun photo op area.

Celebrate Mardi Gras on Myriad Street with an event tailored to children ages 3-10. Celebrate the traditional carnival celebration with crafts, games, a special appearance by Princess Tiana from Project Princess, giveaways and more! Activities include masquerade mask making, bingo, jazz band, reading games, trivia and it all ends with a second line parade through the Gardens! Little Saplings

Join us in the Children’s Garden for an hour of songs, games, and interactive nature fun. Toddlers (and parents!) will get to learn about the exciting world of gardens in an engaging and educational way. Each week features a new theme with corresponding activities and learning opportunities. Every Little Saplings event begins with a song, ends with a sensory bin, and includes a hands-on craft.

Bring your youngster for story time each Wednesday at 10 am. Books are nature-themed and selected based on the season. We’ll begin with an interactive song and children will enjoy creating a small craft after the story. Join us the last Wednesday of the month for reading and craft time with the Downtown Library. Award-winning photographer Matthew Benson presents a lecture and workshop extravaganza. Learn the fundamentals of creating beautiful, compelling photography in the garden, including working with light and composition, developing a personal style, postproduction and image editing techniques, the best basic equipment–from cameras and filters to iPhones and Instagram in a 1+ hour PowerPoint presentation in The Garden Classroom.  Then spend 2+ hours with Matthew in a hands-on workshop in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory.  Where you will receive creative and technical instruction in image and portfolio review and critique, postproduction editing, and photographing and editing for social media (iPhones and editing apps).  A question and answer session, along with book sales + signings will follow.

MATTHEW BENSON Balmville, NY

  • Matthew is a writer, photographer, author and organic farmer whose work focuses on issues of food, sustainability, and organics. He is the owner of Stonegate Farm in New York’s Hudson River Valley, where he cultivates organic vegetables, historic fruit, raw honey, and medicinal flowers and herbs. His farm has been featured in The New York Times, Better Homes & Gardens, Organic Gardening, and the television show This Old House, among others.
