Project Dance will host an outdoor dance concert on Saturday, October 31. Our goal is to encourage, inspire, and build up the community of Oklahoma City. The family-friendly outdoor dance concert is free and open to the public, allowing locals and visitors to experience the arts as dancers reach out to the community through the unspoken language of dance. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy!
Project Dance began in 2002 shortly after the events of 9-11 as a way of bringing hope and healing to the broken city streets of New York City. Founding Director Cheryl Cutlip, a former Radio City Rockette, brought more than 100 dancers together for their kickoff event. Participating dancers along with the public were moved by the event and desired to repeat the event the following year. What was meant to be a one-time expression of goodwill has developed into a global movement of dancers seeking to positively impact culture through artistic integrity. Project Dance has continued to expand over the past 17 years and has now hosted more than 100 events worldwide in places like New York City, Sydney, Hong Kong, London, Toronto, Penang, Lima, Houston, Kansas City, Orlando, Phoenix, Detroit, Atlanta, and of course Oklahoma City.
